The Backstory
Tshepang was my first legitimate portraiture session. Equipped with a consumer DSLR and a handful of manual Minolta lenses, I was excited to test my skills. We were both undergraduates at Trinity College, where she, hailing from Botswana, stayed over winter break. We shared mutual friends and a role at the campus tech desk, so our connection felt natural.
What We Did
We spent a foggy winter afternoon exploring the campus, using Trinity’s iconic Bell Tower church as a backdrop. With a mix of candor and contrast, I aimed to capture her unique presence. Tshepang was an incredible muse, and our rapport brought laughter between each shot. Though neither of us was fully seasoned, I believe we created some wonderful images that still hold up today. This session marked my first true venture into portrait photography, and these portraits will always hold a special place in my portfolio.

Chapel on a Hill
Hartford CT is home to the highest. The Trinity College campus in Hartford, CT is home to the highest point in the city. On the tallest summit stands The Trinity College Chapel standing 163 feet into the city’s skyline. Cast of Gothic stone, the structure was complete in 1933, but it’s architectural ancestry hails back generations. Its walls and hauls served as a backdrop for our workership session come on quite a legal affair.
