Upbound Moments • (UpMOMT) • captures personal and intimate events and milestones, with a focus on couples, family, and education.

ZAMA Creative • (ZC) • is a separate enterprise from my media services company Upbound Media Group LLC aggregating all of my personal publishing spaces, commercial or commentative.

How We Met

Monique Rebel Jones and I attended the same high school, separated by just one graduating year. We shared teachers, mentors, and creative inspirations but never crossed paths during those years. Seven years after my graduation, we finally met on the set of a film pilot produced by one of our former teachers. Rebel’s infant daughter starred in the project, and by the end of the day, we had exchanged contact information, sparking a partnership that would grow over the years.

Artisan Friends

Within a year, Rebel reached out to collaborate on the second season of Vicrina Aberdeen’s Vicrina en Vogue fashion web series. This marked the beginning of our creative collaborations. From Living in the Process interviews to branding consultation for Rebel’s candle-making business, Solar Rituals, we’ve worked on numerous projects, blending media production with storytelling and artistic synergy.

What We Did

Rebel is a multifaceted creative: a media executive, candle artisan, poet, performer, and mother. Upbound Media Group LLC, through its branches Upbound Solutions and Upbound Content, has provided Rebel and her ventures with services ranging from media consultation and event capture to post-production and social media strategy.

Monique Rebel Jones was a tour de force long before I met her. Though we attended the same high school, our paths never crossed—but her presence was unmistakable. Even then, she was already “living in the process,” excelling across event curation, hosting, broadcast, creative direction, modeling, line direction, performance, public and talent relations, and more. Every endeavor carried a purpose, her process always aimed at progress.

Upbound Solutions – Vicrina en Vogue

Season 2 • Production and Publishing

The Framwork | Aim. Audit. Act

Aim: Complete the technical production and publishing for the second season of the Vicrina en Vogue series.

Audit: We reviewed the captured media for the season’s first episode, principal photography for the season introduction and teaser trailer, and created a scope and sequence for producing the remaining five episodes. Coordination with Vicrina brought clarity to how her lineage and legacy informed her lifestyle content.

Act: Triple R Solutions and Upbound Media Group provided end-to-end media production and consultation solutions for the season’s production and promotion. Principal photography began in September 2018, and the sixth episode aired in January 2019.

Upbound Content – 2019 Living in the Process Publications

The Framework | Aim. Audit. Act

Aim: Capture supplemental content and manage post-production for two episodes featuring makeup artist Troi Hawkins of Perennial Beauti LLC and stylist/rapper Orei Yo.

Audit: During principal photography, Upbound Media provided technical consultation to address production challenges. This advisement was applied to reinforce technical workflows for future Living in the Process productions.

Act: Upbound Media coordinated with Triple R Solutions to capture additional interview content and provided post-production support to master the two episodes released in 2019.

Aim: Capture promotional photography for Triple R Productions.

Audit: Standard logistics were coordinated to execute a multi-location shoot, starting at the Barclays Center and continuing through Crown Heights and Williamsburg. Each location reflected Rebel’s connection to her Brooklyn roots.

Act: Photography sessions were completed in February 2020, with final images mastered and delivered for promotional use.

Aim: Capture warm and candid moments from the birthday party Rebel hosted for her daughter, neighbors, and friends.

Audit: As a multi-tasking mother and creative, Rebel wore many hats that day. By discreetly managing logistics and capture, I helped ensure the event unfolded smoothly, allowing her to focus on celebrating her daughter.

Act: The results were shared with Rebel, preserving the joy of this special day for her and her community to cherish.

Upbound Moments – Rebel’s Birthday Photography

Aim: Celebrate Rebel’s birthday with a warm, organic photo session at the Brooklyn Public Library.

Audit: Capturing a professional yet eclectic session in a public space required thoughtful planning. By remaining unobtrusive and following an ad hoc SOP, we ensured the shoot did not disrupt patrons or library operations.

Act: Using natural light and a minimal camera setup, we worked patiently to achieve several striking results. Shooting manually on a challenging lens added complexity, but the outcome speaks for itself.
