How We Met
Miral Sattar is a mother of three wonderful children (then two), and the visionary behind Bearily Bear, a heartfelt brand rooted in care and creativity. Our connection came through Adem Tesfaye, her fitness instructor and a past collaborator of mine. Adem shared my information, and Miral reached out to discuss producing a crowdfunding campaign video for her brand. She also hoped for some family portraits to round out the project. I happily assured her I could support both.
Artisan Friends
In a half dozen visits, I got to know the Sattar family intimately. Miral had a clear vision for the campaign’s interview components and enlisted the help of her supportive neighbors, whose children eagerly joined the project. I coordinated these elements into a polished production that captured Bearily Bear’s ethos and charm. Together, we produced a concept video—watermarked for now, as the product remains in its prototype phase—offering a glimpse into this delightful collaboration.
What We Did
I cherished the opportunity to experience the warmth of the Sattar household and document moments of joy with her family. When the time is right, I look forward to revisiting and building on our work to bring Bearily Bear’s next chapter to life. Product Evolution
The Bearily Bear prototype went through several iterations before reaching its final design. The chosen size optimized both comfort and portability, reflecting the product’s practical and thoughtful development. The prototype was fitted with a Bluetooth speaker with an internal lithium ion battery capable of several hours of tethered playback to a host device. The intended pairing was with a set of Bearily Bear stories, re-worked takes on classic fairy tales and stories with diverse and modern sensibilities for young children.

Production and Photography
Principal photography was conducted over one day at the Sattar family home. Miral invited neighbors and their children to participate, creating a relaxed and natural environment for capturing moments with the product. On a separate day, I shadowed Miral and her children during an evening stroll in their neighborhood to record additional footage and details for the promotional video.

Supplementary Content Creation
To enhance the promotion of the prototype, I photographed Bearily Bear alongside a selection of fabrics, ensuring it was well-documented under various lighting setups. These initial images were taken in the historical district of of Prospect Parks Lefferts-Gardens, as well as on the Longmeadow of Prospect Park, at nearly a mile long, being the longest stretch of unbroken meadow in any U.S. urban park.
